Kind hearted Cheryl has donated £500k to the Prince’s Trust charity.
The money comes from the singers own charity Cheryl’s Trust which was set up last year in partnership with Prince’s Trust.
The £500,000 will be used to build a Cheryl’s Trust multimedia youth centre in the heart of the Newcastle city centre.
The centre will help unemployed and disadvantaged young people living in the North East of England get their lives on track and give them the support to reach their potential.
Speaking about the youth centre a spokesperson said: “The funds Cheryl’s Trust has committed to raise as of last year are dedicated to funding a new Prince’s Trust centre in Newcastle.
“We will look to support other projects in the future once we have delivered on the current commitment.”
The news of the donation comes after it was announced that Cheryl will be honoured for her charity work at this years Global Gift Gala, Cheryl will be presented her ‘Global Gift Philanthropist’ award by Eva Longoria.
Speaking about the award, the charitable star said: “I am honoured to be this year’s recipient of the Global Gift Gala Philanthropist Award,”
“I’m proud of where I grew up but I’m only too aware of the challenges that young people face. I want to give back and help young people who feel like they’ll never achieve anything reach their dreams and live a happy life.”
The prestigious award ceremony will take place in Paris on May 9th.
